Abstract:In this talk, I will give a brief account of our recent theoretical work mainly on three different topics: quantum simulation, quantum computing models, and topological quantum codes and computing. For quantum simulation, I will focus on digital protocol and the quantum channel simulators, and some perspectives on analog quantum simulators. Then I will talk about measurement-based quantum computing, drawing the connection with many-body systems. At last, I will focus on qubits encoded in systems with symmetry-protected topological order. Quantum error-correction property and universal quantum computing schemes will be discussed. I will conclude with highlights of challenges for robust quantum computing.
王东升博士简介:Dongsheng Wang graduated from Shandong University on physics and obtained his PhD degree on quantum computing at University of Calgary, Canada. He has continued his career with postdoc at the Quantum Matter Institue at University of British Columbia, Vancouver, and the Institute for Quantum Computing, Waterloo. His theoretic research interest includes quantum open system dynamics, quantum simulation algorithms, quantum computing models, especially topological quantum computing.
