Abstract:We developed a potassium 39 machine and achieved degenerate Bose gas with all-optical trapping in 2017 in JILA. With well-controlled density and temperature, we perform a series of experiments on few-body physics. We calibrate a Feshbach resonance by rf dissociation method with unprecedented precision. We locate a triatomic scattering resonance (Efimov resonance) at negative scattering lengths that substantially deviates from the van der Waals universal value. Ab inito models have been implemented to reproduce both results. We also extend this study to positive scattering lengths in a very recent experiment.
