摘要:Beyond the stellar content of a galaxy and typically within its dark matter halo, there exists multi-phase circum-galactic medium (CGM). These multi-phase CGM plays an important role in the co-evolution of galaxies and their environment. In recent years, thanks to the significantly improved multi-wavelength observations, we start to have deep insights into some previously poorly understood CGM phases. In this talk, I will briefly review some results from multi-wavelength observations of different CGM phases around local galaxies, including the hot/warm/cold gases, dust, cosmic ray, and magnetic field. I will also briefly discuss some key results on the CGM around high-z galaxies, as well as give a brief prospect on the CGM study with some future astronomy missions. I hope we observers could closely collaborate with theorists to better understand the ecosystems of galaxies.

He then did postdoc study at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, the CEA Saclay in France, and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor from 2010 to 2018. Starting in Feb. 2018, he became a research faculty at the Department of Astronomy, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and was later promoted to a research associate professor in Sep. 2022, before joining the Purple Mountain Observatory as a research professor in Jan. 2023. His research interests focus on multi-wavelength observations, including the multi-phase CGM around local galaxies, high-z objects, and supernova remnants, etc.
