摘要:
Parity symmetry is known to be violated in the weak interaction. Do the physical laws behind the unsolved problems of modern cosmology - cosmic inflation, dark matter, and dark energy - also violate parity symmetry? In this talk, we will discuss theoretical and observational possibilities of parity violation in cosmology, a topic that has received much attention in recent years.
个人简介:

Professor Eiichiro Komatsu uses theoretical physics and observational data to study the origin, evolution, and composition of the universe. Since 2012, he has been scientific director of the Department of Physical Cosmology at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics in Garching, Germany. Previously, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Princeton University, as well as a professor in the Department of Astronomy and director of the Texas Cosmology Center at the University of Texas at Austin. Professor Komatsu obtained his Ph.D. from Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan, in 2001.
He is a fellow of the American Physical Society. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship, the Nishinomiya-Yukawa Memorial Prize, the Gruber Cosmology Prize, the Lancelot M. Berkeley Prize of the American Astronomical Society, the Chushiro Hayashi Prize of the Astronomical Society of Japan, the Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics, the Inoue Prize for Science, and the Nishina Memorial Prize.
His scientific achievements include the most stringent test of the physics of the early universe, known as cosmic inflation; innovative explorations of dark matter, dark energy, and neutrinos in cosmology; and the astrophysics of galaxy clusters.
