Abstract:
Young stars as discovered within the central parsec of the Milky Way, along with the super-solar metallicities observed in the broad-line regions of AGN suggest the strong star formation/evolution surrounding central SMBH. The interplay between these stellar objects and central black hole in these dense nuclear environments can trigger a wealth of time-domain and multi-messenger phenomena. These include tidal disruption events, changing-look active galactic nuclei, extreme mass-ratio inspirals, and mergers of massive stellar-mass binary black holes. These processes will shed light on the nuclear environment, which may play a key role in understanding the co-evolution of galaxies and SMBHs. Furthermore, the high-redshift galaxies (e.g., little red dot) from JWST also show compact structures, where the size and stellar density may be similar to the nuclear star cluster in other galaxies. I will also present a novel model to explain the peculiar properties of Little Red Dots.
